What is the Women's Health Hub service and who is it for?

This service is a 1-year pilot for patients in B&NES awaiting a Gynaecology appointment at the Royal United Hopsital. Following clinical triage patients can be treated in our community clinic instead of a hospital setting.

This service covers:

Menstrual problems - assessment and treatment
Menopause assessment and treatment
Pessary fitting and removal
Complex contraception counselling and provision
Cervical abnormalities including cervical polyps
Vulval dermatoses that don’t meet the two week wait criteria
Complex coil fitting and removal.
Pelvic pain.
Fibroids

This service operates every Wednesday, alternating between:

Temple House Practice in Keynsham
Combe Down Branch Surgery in Odd Down.

Patients treated in this service are referred via E-Referrals pathway through their own GP.

You will be contacted by our of our dedicated service administrators to book your appointment.

The waiting time for this service is approximately 8 weeks but a cancellation list is in operation for those may wish to be contated at short notice should an appointment become available.

During your appintment you will seen by a GP with a specialist interest in Gynaecology with the assistance from a skilled HCA.

What to expect from your apppointment:

Specialist care in a supportive and comfortable environment.

If you require ongoing treatment or referrals, this may be coordinated with your registered GP.

We operate from two different locations in B&NES:

Temple House Surgery in Keynsham
Combe Down Branch Surgery in Bath

Depending on the type of appointment required there is the option for both face-to-face appointments or telephone consultations within this service.
